Cox Communications this week said it's rebranded its local origination channels across the country as the Yurview Network is producing additional programs such as a March Madness preview called Dash To the Desert and a Tech Trends show with features from the Consumer Electronics Show bolstering existing local programming. Local school sports, live events and regional shows will continue on the channels but Cox also is adding digital exclusives on yurview.com. News of the recent changes had already been appearing in outlets in local markets, including Louisiana.

“Our focus remains on telling local stories that help people connect to the things they love, but we can also produce national content that resonates across markets based on universal interests,” John Parris, director, content operations, Yurview said in a release.

Tech Trends premiered on March 5 and will run multiple times per week throughout March, with highlights from CES in Las Vegas via consumer tech blogger Sarah Evans and Snapchat influencer Danny Berk. Sarah and Danny spoke to entrepreneurs and tech leaders and tried everything from virtual gaming to smart toilets. Yurview also will have programming from Austin, Texas's South by Southwest.

On March 12, selection Sunday, Yurview tips off the weekly Dash to the Desert previewing the NCAA basketball tournament, hosted by former NCAA coach and current analyst Vin Parise and former NBA player and current analyst Scott Williams. Said Cox: "Dash to the Desert will include regional college basketball experts giving their views in a Pardon The Interruption-style, fast-paced show. Accompanying Dash to the Desert will be a show called Destination Arizona that features the best of Phoenix and surrounding areas as fans prep for their Final Four pilgrimage." The Final Four games, at University of Phoenix Stadium, will be April 1 and April 3. (Las Vegas and Phoenix are Cox cable markets.)

Cox also plans to cover HackOn, the Cox Business accelerator, on Yurview.
