Cox Communications Inc. said it will roll out Motorola Broadband Communications Sector “DCT-6412 DVR” set-tops in more than 10 Motorola markets by year's end.
The markets include Orange County, Calif.; Omaha, Neb.; Roanoke and Hampton Roads, Va.; New Orleans and Baton Rouge, La.; Macon, Ga.; Tulsa, Okla.; Cox's Middle America systems; and systems in New England.
"Our earlier market launches proved that DVR [digital-video-recorder] service greatly enhances our customers' viewing experience," Cox vice president of product marketing and management David Pugliese said in a prepared statement.
Cox first launched DVRs with Scientific-Atlanta Inc. set-tops in Gainesville, Fla., and northern Virginia, and the MSO found that 93% of DVR subscribers would recommend it to friends.
The MSO said it had 2,000 subscriber preorders for DVRs in Motorola markets.
