Cox Communications Inc. said Thursday that subscribers in Phoenix and Tucson, Ariz., can now opt for Spanish-language bills.
The MSO said it will roll out the option in its other markets throughout the rest of the year.
"Certainly, there is much more to offering a billing statement in Spanish than simply translating the existing bill,” Cox director of multicultural marketing Cesar Cruz said in a prepared statement.
“We took great care in 'transcreating' our statement to ensure that every section is clear, understandable and culturally relevant to our Spanish-speaking customers," he added. "We also looked carefully at our customer-service functions to ensure that we offer excellent customer care at all levels of contact."
Cox is also adding more Spanish-language networks to its lineup, and the operator recently introduced several Cox Digital Telephone calling plans that offer inexpensive long-distance calls to Mexico.
"The Spanish-language bill underscores Cox's commitment to making it simpler and more convenient for customers to do business with Cox,” Cox Arizona vice president and region manager Steve Rizley said. “We've received very positive response from Arizona customers about this new feature and other product enhancements.”
