Cox to Route with Juniper

Cox Communications Inc. will expand its network with Juniper Networks Inc. routing platforms.

In the second phase of the MSO’s national backbone evolution, Cox is upgrading its entire core network with Juniper’s “T-series” core routing platforms, the two companies said Tuesday.

Cox had previously deployed Juniper’s “M-series” and T-series routing platforms to support multiple applications including peering, cable-modem-termination-system aggregation, high-speed Internet and video in its metro core networks.

The operator said it is upgrading with “T640” core routers to ensure that it can continue to meet more stringent service-level agreements.
