Cox Rules The Roost

UBS Warburg cable debt and equity analyst Aryeh Bourkoff raised his rating on Cox Communications Inc. from "neutral" to "buy," based on what he expects to be a robust fourth quarter for the Atlanta-based MSO. In a research report, Bourkoff said he expects the Atlanta-based MSO to report strong year-end results (expected Feb. 12), with a 14 percent rate of revenue growth and cash flow up 15.6 percent. He raised his 12-month price target on the stock from $35 per share to $36 each. The company's solid management, conservative accounting treatment and strong operating momentum are "characteristics which contribute to our view that Cox will continue to be the most stable investment in the cable and satellite universe," Bourkoff wrote.
