CSN California Skates To New Ratings Marks With Sharks

Comcast SportsNet California scored its highest San Jose Sharks rating ever during the National Hockey League club's second-round clinching game against the Detroit Red Wings.
The May 8 telecast of Game 5 of the series delivered a 6.57 household rating in the San Jose DMA, according to Nielsen data, skating past the 5.9 average for Game 6 of the 2008 Western Conference  semifinals against the Dallas Stars of May 4, 2008.
Sharks-Red Wings Game 5 attracted averaged 164,250 households for the entire game, peaking with a 9.14 rating and over 229,000 households in the 9:15 p.m. quarter hour. Moreover,  Sharks Postgame Live registered its highest rating ever with a 3.06 and some  77,000 households.

All told, CSN California was the top-rated network in the DMA among adults 18 to 49 (4.42), men 18 to 49 (6.21), adults 25 to 54 (4.51), and men 25 to 54 (6.41) during last Saturday's telecast.
