The Chicago Blackhawks have jumped out of the gate fast in the truncated 2013 NHL season and Comcast SportsNet is flying right alongside the undefeated club.
Comcast SportsNet Chicago netted its highest-rated regular-season telecast on Sunday night, giving the RSN its top four airings with the club this season.
CSN Chicago’s Jan. 27 airing of the Blackhawks’ 2-1 overtime win over the Detroit Red Wings averaged 220,000 households for the contest, according to Nielsen data. The game peaked with an 8.09 and some 282,000 households during the 8:15 p.m. quarter hour.
The 6.31 single game regular-season ratings record shatters the previous 5.40 mark set just on Jan. 22 for the Blackhawks home opener versus the St. Louis Blues.
Including Jan. 27's mark, the top four highest-rated Blackhawks regular season games in network history have all occurred over the past six days:
1) 6.31 – Blackhawks vs. Detroit (Jan. 27)
2) 5.40 – Blackhawks vs. St. Louis (Jan. 22)
3) 5.13 – Blackhawks at Dallas (Jan. 24)
4) 4.39 – Blackhawks at Columbus (Jan. 26)
