The Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM) board of directors said Tuesday that it has chosen executive search firm Howard Fischer Associates International to conduct a search for its next president and CEO, replacing current head Char Beales, who announced in February that she would retire at the end of the year.
“Select members of the CTAM Board and the CTAM Educational Foundation Board are working closely with Howard Fischer Associates over the next few months to select the new President and CEO,” said David Juliano, chair, CTAM Board of Directors in a statement. “CTAM is well-positioned to engage a leader who has the experience and passion to take the organization into the future.”
In November CTAM announced a shift from its mix of individual and corporate memberships to a corporate-centric business model. At that time, it also said it was pulling the plug on the annual CTAM Summit -- which ended its run after 37 years -- and Insights Conference, citing “structural changes” in the marketing organizations of its then 90 corporate members.
CTAM said in its Feb. 7 statement that Beales had considered retirement in 2012, but the CTAM board executive committee requested she stay another year.
Beales has served 21 years at the helm. The next CTAM CEO will be the fourth in the organization’s history.
