CTAM Multicultural Session Is On

That multicultural-marketing general session the Cable &
Telecommunications Association for Marketing promised to have at its annual CTAM
Summit conference in Seattle later this month is now a done deal.

The session will take place July 22 and feature a keynote from Peter
Villegas, Washington Mutual Inc.'s first vice president and national manager of
emerging markets. Insight Communications Co. Inc. CEO Michael Willner will
introduce Villegas, Multichannel News Day learned Tuesday afternoon.

Under Villegas' direction, Washington Mutual has introduced a variety of
services at its banks nationwide catering to African Americans, Latinos and
Asian Americans.

CTAM has been searching for a multicultural-oriented keynote speaker or
session participants the past few weeks to round out its Summit, and the Walter
Kaitz Foundation recommended Villegas.

"There's a lot of lessons the cable industry can learn from him," CTAM CEO
Char Beales said.

Villegas' Summit appearance will follow the morning keynote from RealNetworks
Inc. CEO Rob Glaser, with a special IBM Corp./Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide
presentation scheduled later that day.
