CTAM: Our Show Will Go On

The Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing said Monday that
it will proceed with the planned Broadband Opportunity Conference in early
November in Tysons Corner, Va.

CTAM said it made the decision after consulting with association leadership
and hearing from members saying, 'We need to meet.' CTAM also said it bore in
mind that 'broadband will play a significant role in the nation's communications
future.'

The conference -- Nov. 6 through 8 at the Sheraton Premiere Tysons Corner
Hotel, near Dulles International Airport outside of Washington, D.C. -- will
focus on the development and marketing of advanced services enabled through
cable's broadband connection to the networked home.

Walt Disney Internet Group president Steve Wadsworth and Incanta Inc. CEO
Maggie Bellville are scheduled to be keynoters.

Several cable-related trade shows were canceled after the Sept. 11 terrorist
attacks, which had a huge impact on corporate travel. The East Coast Cable 2001
show, which was planned for Oct. 23 through 25 in Baltimore, was among
those.
