CTAM Plans Brand Effort

New York-The Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing has a new branding effort designed to promote new services to the CTAM community and to attract new members from telecommunications companies outside of the cable industry, it said last week.

MK Advertising created the design work under the direction of MediaOne Group Inc. senior vice president of video Judi Allen, who chaired the CTAM strategic-planning committee.

"We wanted to position CTAM as a powerful connection between marketers, our complex industry and success," Allen said.

CTAM introduced its new tag line, "All the Right Connections," as well as an updated logo and several new publications, both print and online.

The association also launched a daily clipping service last week called "SmartBrief from CTAM," sent via e-mail to subscribers. And CTAM will send a Web-based monthly publication called eTAM to its members.

Also new to CTAM is an online job bank. "We wish our members didn't need it so much," CTAM president Char Beales said at a press conference here last Wednesday.

The association's Web site (www.ctam.com) has more information.
