Sapan is being saluted with the Grand Tam, the marketing group's highest
honor, in recognition of his time, talent and commitment to bolster the industry
through marketing, education and leadership. A member of the organization's
board of directors, Sapan also serves as the chairman of the CTAM Educational
Foundation, and he is a key driver in the development of CTAM's Executive
Management Program at the Harvard Business School.
Sie will be bestowed with the 2001 Chairman's Award for his contributions to
CTAM's Executive Management Program at Harvard and its predecessor at
Northwestern University. Sie was the first to embrace the untested program, and
he continues to shape its curriculum. Recently, Sie recruited Liberty Media
Group chairman John Malone to lend his support to the program.
The CTAM One of a Kind Award was created in the memory of the late Roy
Mehlman, and it is awarded periodically by former CTAM board members to an
industry executive who embodies a willingness to give of himself/herself so that
others in the business will benefit.
Maglio, a cable marketing pioneer and former CTAM president in the early
1980s, helped to expand the group's services and membership and pushed it toward
more of a focus on pay-per-view during the 1990s.
