New York -- Viewer's Choice and the cable marketinggroup CTAM will team to present awards honoring the best pay-per-view marketing andpromotional campaigns of the year.
The winners will be announced at the March CTAM PPV andDigital Technology Conference and inducted into the Viewer's Choice PPV Hall of Fame,said Robert Bedell, senior vice president of sales and marketing for the network.
The awards will highlight the efforts of operators,distributors, PPV networks and direct- broadcast satellite services to market and promotePPV programming. Entries for the award will be judged by an independent panel created bythe CTAM PPV board of directors.
'The primary objective of this program is to gathercase studies of the most outstanding marketing and promotional activities in the industryduring the prior year, and disseminate the information to all PPV retailers -- cable, DBSor MMDS -- in an effort to help them improve the performance of their PPV business,'Bedell said.
An unspecified number of winners will present theircampaigns during the final conference session, followed immediately by the induction intothe Viewer's Choice Hall of Fame, said Seth Morrison, CTAM's vice president ofmarketing.
'Having Viewer's Choice recognizing theachievements of the industry is a very good thing for the industry,' Morrison said.
The deadline to return entries to CTAM is Feb. 12.
