The 2003 keynote roster for the Cable Television Public Affairs Association's
annual Forum event went public Tuesday afternoon.
Cox Communications Inc. CEO James Robbins will co-keynote the conference's
opening session March 31. He'll be joined by Emerald Partners founder Fraser
Seitel, author of best-selling textbook The Practice of Public
National Cable & Telecommunications Association president and CEO Robert
Sachs also has a keynote coming at the CTPAA's Forum, as will Rep. Loretta
Sanchez (D-Calif.) and National Education Association president Reg Weaver.
Individual Forum 2003 conference panels will look at cable's educational
resources, gotcha journalism, system/cable-network relationships and
multicultural marketing. In another session, panelists will respond to consumer
perceptions of the cable industry, communicated through person-on-the-street
The CTPAA's Forum conference will run March 30 through April 2 at the
Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C.
Conference portions are underwritten by Hallmark Channel, ESPN, International
Channel Networks, Disney/ABC Cable Networks, Cox and NBC Cable Networks.
A separate ceremony for The Maxwell Awards, honoring consumer press coverage
of cable affairs, will take place March 31 under A&E Television Networks/The
History Channel's sponsorship.
