CuriosityStream, the over-the-top subscription VOD service from Discovery Communications founder John Hendricks that launched in March 2015, has introduced a native app for the new Apple TV.

CuriosityStream continues to support previous-generation Apple TV boxes via  AirPlay, which lets users stream content from an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch wirelessly to the Apple TV.

The expansion puts the SVOD service on another key platform, and follows a recent launch on the Amazon Fire TV. It also supports Roku players and Roku TVs, Web browsers, iOS and Android mobile devices, Android TV devices (version 4.1 and up), and the Google Chromecast (for its Android apps).

CuriosityStream also has apps for smart TV platforms on the roadmap, and is exploring expansions on Xbox and PlayStation consoles.
