Current said Monday that it will hold a contest to solicit contributions from its viewers.
The former Newsworld International, being relaunched by former Vice President Al Gore and entrepreneur Joel Hyatt, will grant the winner a development deal, including $3,000, to produce three short-form segments.
Current said it is looking for video submissions in three categories -- “Current Gigs,” which it described as “the most incredible, bizarre, or mindless jobs in the world”; “Current Soul,” or “videos on what connects people to the divine”; and “Current Fashion,” focusing on what’s in or what should be out.
All submissions must be received by May 12. More information is available on the network’s Web site (www.current.tv).
