Curtain Drops on ReelzChannel


ReelzChannel is set to officially launch Wednesday at 6 p.m. (EST)/3 p.m. (PST).

The Hubbard Media Group-owned network, which was originally coined MovieWatch (, will be available in 28 million TV homes nationwide via multichannel-video distributors such as DirecTV, EchoStar Communications’ Dish Network, Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Charter, Bright House Networks and Insight Communications.

The network’s companion Web site ( will launch globally at the same time.

“In this exciting era of ever-expanding movie options on numerous premium-movie channels, pay-per-view, video-on-demand, DVD and in the theaters, navigating effectively through all of these choices has become a daunting challenge," ReelzChannel Chairman and CEO Stanley E. Hubbard said in a prepared statement.

"That challenge has now been met thanks to the cable operators and satellite systems that have partnered with us to reach a record number of subscribers at launch,” he added.
