Denver-based cable investment banker Daniels & Associates L.P. said it completed 72 transactions in 2005 with an aggregate value of $2.7 billion, putting it at the top of Thomson Financial’s list of leading telecommunications dealmakers.
Of those 72 transactions, Daniels said, 38 were mergers and acquisitions and 34 were corporate-finance and financial-advisory transactions for domestic and international clients in the cable, telecommunications, media and technology industries.
“2005 was a very productive year,” Daniels CEO Brian Deevy said in a prepared statement. “We continued to be the most active M&A advisor in our key sectors of the communications business and helped a wide variety of clients to achieve their strategic and financial goals.”
Thomson ranked Daniels No. 1 with 29 completed M&A transactions for its domestic telecommunications clients. The Thomson Financial ranking includes only a portion of Daniels’ total deals -- it does not include corporate-finance or financial-advisory transactions, nor does it take into account certain technology, international or confidential M&A transactions.
Among companies Daniels advised in 2005 were Alltel Corp. Inc., Cequel III LLC, Charter Communications Inc., Cox Communications Inc., Crestview Capital Partners LLC, MidOcean Partners LLP, ML Media Partners, Nautic Partners LLC, Northland Cable Television Inc. and Rapid Communications.
