DAQTron Debuts DOCSIS 3.0 Analyzer

Testing-equipment provider DAQTron introduced what it claimed is the industry's first RF protocol analyzer for functional analysis of upstream and downstream DOCSIS 3.0 signals.

The DP-360, available now, features four independent downstream and four independent upstream tuners with configurable channel placement. The device also provides independent, real-time, upstream- and downstream-channel filtering on DOCSIS message types and MAC addresses, as well as and full support for four or more bonded channels.

The DP-360 is already being used by DOCSIS equipment manufacturers and product-certification companies, according to DAQTron vice president of marketing Joseph Kovacs.

Pricing for the DP-360 starts at around $45,000. DAQTron said it will offer a trade-in allowance to customers currently using any model of ST-260C, its previous-generation DOCSIS protocol analyzer.

Atlanta-based DAQTron, founded in 1994, provides test systems for cable modems, voice-over-IP modems and set-top boxes.
