DAVE.TV Gives Users Channel for IPTV Content

IPTV digital network DAVE.TV teamed up with interactive consumer-device maker Digital Blue Corp. to launch a lineup of themed user-generated video communities on DAVE.TV's “Social Broadcast Network.”

The new channels, located on the DAVE.TV Web site (www.dave.tv), will feature user-generated content assembled into TV and sports categories. Ranging from Fox’s American Idol to popular skateboard celebrity Tony Hawk, the channels will allow users to meet and interact with each other, post self-produced video and vote on issues surrounding their favorite content.

One such channel, "Tony Hawk Action-Cam Channel," is an outgrowth of the helmet camera Digital Blue has developed and is now selling. Set to launch in June, the channel will allow users to publish and broadcast personal action-sports videos and footage of their own stunt filmed with their “Tony Hawk Helmet Cam” or other recording devices.

DAVE.TV -- short for Distributed Audio Video Entertainment Television -- has developed a string of interactive IP video focused on user-generated content. Its “Cross Platform Digital Delivery Ecosystem” offers tools to deliver that content to computers, Web-enabled devices, televisions and portable media players.
