Littleton, Colo.-EchoStar Communications Corp. said last week it signed a new retailer, Indianapolis-based H.H. Gregg, to sell its Dish Network direct-broadcast-satellite service.
The retailer will carry JVC Co. of America-branded Dish systems at its 33 Midwest stores, starting in mid-September.
Meanwhile, DirecTV Inc. and RadioShack Corp. said last week that they signed a new multi-year co-marketing agreement. The pact enhances their current arrangement and provides incentives for professional installations completed by RadioShack. It also includes enhanced joint advertising and promotional campaigns.
H.H. Gregg also carries DirecTV Inc. systems. Dish earlier filed a lawsuit against its DBS competitor, claiming that DirecTV uses monopolistic tactics to keep Dish out of large consumer-electronics chains.
"Now that we offer Dish Network, H.H. Gregg is well positioned to offer consumers a choice in satellite-television products," H.H. Gregg president Jerry Throgmartin said in a press release.
