Program Partners announced its acquisition of broadcast-syndication rights for Degrassi: The Next Generation, the hit series from MTV Networks’ teen nighttime channel, The N.
The show will begin running in syndication next fall.
Produced by Toronto-based Epitome Pictures, Degrassi is a fictional series charting the trials and tribulations of adolescence in the 21st century. The show just entered its sixth season on The N, which is now available in 50 million households via cable, digital cable and satellite TV.
“Degrassi: The Next Generation has an extremely loyal audience, and ratings consistently outperform expectations,” said Sarah Tomassi Lindman, vice president of production and programming at The N. “This show works everywhere.”
