Delivery Agent Hires CFO

Web and T-commerce specialist Delivery Agent on Tuesday named Michael Novelly its chief financial officer, where he will oversee the company’s finance, legal and human resources departments.

He succeeds Kelyn Brannon, who left Delivery Agent in June and was named CFO of Arista Networks in July.

Prior to Delivery Agent, Novelly was CFO of Discover Books, an online book reseller, and was VP of financial planning and analysis at Dolby laboratories, where he also served a three-month stint as interim CFO. He also previously was responsible for financial planning, analysis, reporting, budgeting and forecasting for Time Warner.

Of recent note, Delivery Agent secured a deal with PayPal aimed at making it easier for consumers to make purchases using remote controls and second screen apps. Its pay-TV partners include Verizon FiOS TV, Cablevision Systems, Comcast, and AT&T U-verse. Delivery Agent also works with more than 60 programmers, including NBCUniversal, CBS, Discovery Communications, A+E Television Networks, Fox and Showtime Networks.

“Delivery Agent is in a unique position to do for television-commerce what Internet pioneers did for the $240 billion e-commerce market,” Novelly said, in a statement. “I’m extremely excited to join this management team and help guide Delivery Agent’s growth and strategic direction by leveraging my track record of successful financial management for companies ranging from the Fortune 50 to various privately held organizations throughout the past three decades.”
