In Demand Faces Off Free Preview Of Stanley Cup PPV Playoff Race Package


A team of cable operators next week will drop the puck on a free preview of a playoff race, out-of-market package of National Hockey League action.
Digital customers will be able to check out a free preview of the NHL Center Ice package from Feb. 14-20, according to the National Hockey League and content purveyor In Demand. With the "NHL Center Ice Race For The Stanley Cup" offering, digital customers can watch up to 40 action-packed out-of-market contests weekly across 14 channels, including a number of enhancements. The NHL Center Ice Race For The Stanley Cup will also include select games from the first two rounds of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Among the cable operators offering the package distributed by In Demand: Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications, Bright House Networks, Cablevision Systems, Bresnan Communications, Charter Communications and Midcontinent. In addition, a number of independent operators and telcoVerizon FiOS are also presenting the package, which is available in two installments of $39.95 each or a one-time payment of $79.90.
Among the enhancements fans can access: a multi-screen mosaic that shows all the live action games being played around the circuit, along with score, time clock and channel location; same-day replays; dual-feed telecasts, delivering both the home and visiting team broadcasts of the same game; a stat channel; and up to 12 HD games per week, depending on the system capacity.
