After encountering unexpected subscriber demand, Time Warner Cable's
Columbia, S.C., system has slowed its rollout of Home Box Office's subscription
Time Warner launched HBO On Demand July 1 as a free, 30-day offer to HBO
subscribers in the 130,000-subscriber system, but it had to pull the offer back
when subscriber demand outpaced its technical capacity, a Time Warner executive
Instead, the system will roll HBO On Demand out to about 1,000 to 2,000
subscribers per week, the executive said.
