Destination America Hosts "Red, White and You" Events

After announcing the winners of its “Red, White and You” contest, Destination America plans to celebrate Independence Day by hosting events in the two winning cities.

Festivities will begin on July 4 in Prescott, Ariz. with rides, fireworks and musical performances. The Wallflowers will perform in Prescott before Destination America moves on to Hamtramck, Mich. on July 5.

The Arizona town was chosen to be honored by the network because it is currently recovering from the wildfires that devastated the community last year, and Hamtramck was chosen for the perseverance its diverse population has shown despite difficult economic circumstances.

Abel Gonzales, of Destination America’s Deep Fried Masters, will also appear in both cities to meet with local attendees and to present his various fried food concoctions.

“Destination America is known for all things Americana, and what says America more than a Fourth of July party? We are looking forward to hosting our second-annual Red, White and You event in two towns that truly deserve Independence Day celebrations filled with family activities, fried food and fireworks,” said Marc Etkind, general manager of Destination America, in a statement.
