Digeo Inc. said Wednesday that it has reached an agreement with Cable Television Laboratories Inc. concerning the OpenCable Application Platform specification.
The media-center manufacturer can now offer OCAP-compliant set-top boxes that enable operators to offer services such as video-on-demand.
Digeo added that it is working with CableLabs to develop OCAP extensions to support advanced media-center capabilities.
“Digeo is a recognized leader in cable media centers, having just been recognized with a second Emmy Award for the ‘Moxi Media Center,’” CableLabs CEO Richard R. Green said in a prepared statement.
“We’re pleased that Digeo is taking its leadership a step further by supporting CableLabs’ efforts to enable products that deliver OCAP-enabled interactive digital services,” he added.
