Digitalsmiths, a maker of video search and recommendations systems, said has achieved record growth in the U.S. after securing deals with seven of the top ten pay-TV providers in the nation.
In the U.S. alone, Digitalsmiths’s pay-TV customers represent 64% of the country’s subscriber base, the company claimed, adding that its Seamless Discovery platform is now licensed to more than 100 million homes worldwide.
“North America is the world’s most lucrative pay-tv market, and the United States alone represents over 85% of the total North American subscriber base,” said Ben Weinberger, CEO and co-founder of Digitalsmiths, in a statement.
Digitalsmiths said it now has 46 customers and partners around the world, but has not identified all of them. Among those that have been announced include Time Warner Cable, Bright House Networks, Foxtel, Univision, zeebox and i.TV.
Video recommendations technology is a hot market. ThinkAnalytics, a rival supplier of video recommendations engines, announced in August that its roster had grown to 52 customers and 130 million licensees.
