Home & Garden Television registered its highest-rated series launch with
the Jan. 1 debut of Design on a Dime.
Benefiting from the halo effect of the network's live coverage of the 114th
Tournament of Roses Parade, Dime earned a 1.8 household rating from 3:47
p.m. to 4:17 p.m. that day, according to Nielsen Media Research data.
HGTV's Rose Parade coverage notched a 3.0.
Elsewhere, Scripps Networks On Demand was expected to offer its first
original programming entry Jan. 6 with The Building of HGTV Dream House
The program -- showcasing the construction of the $1.5 million HGTV Dream
Home -- is available to Time Warner Cable video-on-demand-enabled subscribers,
Scripps officials said.
