DirecTV’s Play Call: Up to 100 HD NFL Games

DirecTV Inc. said Wednesday that it will offer up to 100 HDTV broadcasts of National Football League games as part of its 2004 “NFL Sunday Ticket” out-of-market package.

The HD telecasts -- provided mostly by Fox Sports, with some from CBS Sports -- will be available to residential and commercial customers who subscribe to NFL Sunday Ticket and are equipped with HD-system equipment from the direct-broadcast satellite operator.

"This is five times as many NFL HD games as we offered last season and yet another example of DirecTV giving consumers programming cable can't match," executive vice president of programming Stephanie Campbell said in a prepared statement.

DirecTV is the exclusive provider of NFL Sunday Ticket.
