DirecTV Taps BBDO

DirecTV Inc. has selected BBDO New York as its creative agency of record, the direct-broadcast satellite provider said Thursday.

The agency’s responsibilities will cover television, radio, print, direct response and more, on both a national and local basis.

Media responsibilities for DirecTV will shift from Starcom's MediaVest Group to Omnicom's OMD media network, the company said, adding that Omnicom's Rapp Collins Worldwide will continue to handle its direct-marketing activities.

"By bundling all of our creative, media and direct-marketing communication programs within the Omnicom family, we have increased our ability to seamlessly integrate our messages," DirecTV executive vice president Neal Tiles said in a prepared statement.
