Discovery Bumps Up Glashow to Digital Media Distribution SVP

Discovery Communications Tuesday announced the promotion of Rebecca Glashow to senior vice president of digital media distribution where she will be responsible for growing the media company’s evolving digital and cable business units.

Glashow, who previously served as vice president of digital media distribution, will work with operators to drive the growth of their video-on-demand, interactive TV and Internet services as well as broker broadband and mobile deals for content from across Discovery’s family of networks, company officials said.

“Rebecca has made significant contributions to Discovery’s digital distribution through her exceptional negotiating and strategic deal-making skills,” Bill Goodwyn, Discovery Communications’ president of domestic distribution and enterprises, in a statement.

“I am confident that her savvy in the digital media space will continue to extend Discovery’s reach across platforms, providing value for our distribution partners, enhancing our linear networks and offering consumers greater engagement with our award-winning content,” he added.

Glashow recently secured a global partnership with YouTube, further expanding the reach of Discovery’s content, and helped develop relationships with emerging content distributors as well as top MSOs and DBS providers to drive revenue, enhance the quality of services for Discovery’s partners and increase brand presence in the market, Discovery officials said.
