Discovery Channel programming will be showcased on all of British Airways
plc's long-haul flights effective Sept. 1, the two companies announced
Each of the airline's long-haul flights will offer two hours and 15 minutes
of Discovery's programs -- such as Octopus Garden, The World's Largest
Casino and Nefertiti -- on a dedicated channel, according to
Discovery Private Networks director Catherine Breza. 'We look forward to
expanding our relationship with BA through future marketing and partnership
opportunities,' she said in a prepared statement.
British Airways -- which offers up to 18 channels of seat-back video
entertainment to its passengers -- will list details for the Discovery
offerings, as well as other options, in its in-flight magazines.
Discovery already provides in-flight programming to more than 60 U.S. and
international airline carriers through Discovery Communications Inc.'s Discovery
Private Networks division.
