Discovery Gets New Marketing, Branding Officer

Discovery Communications Wednesday named James Hitchcock its new Marketing and Branding Officer.

Hitchcock, who most recently served as senior vice president of marketing and creative for MTV Networks’ CMT, will be responsible for leading Discovery Channel’s various branding, marketing and advertising efforts to “maximize business and programming objectives.”

“Discovery Channel has always charted a bold course in programming and brand identity.  James continues that tradition by bringing a fresh, invigorating approach to his craft and by pushing beyond the boundaries of traditional marketing,” John Ford, President and General Manager, Discovery Channel, said in a statement.
