Discovery Health Has 160-LB Tumor

Discovery Health Channel has an amazing medical story to tell.

On Wednesday, Dec. 22 at 8 p.m. (EST/PST), the network will air 160-LB Tumor, the story of Lucica Bungheze, a 47-year-old Romanian woman born with neurofibroma, a bewildering disease that causes tumors to grow on the skin, tissues and bone.

The Discovery Health special tells the story of her life-saving operation to remove her 160-pound tumor and the American surgeon, Dr. McKay McKinnon, who travels to Romania to perform the surgery.

The special also focuses on Bungheze’s five-month recovery and follows her home, where she is able to fulfill her dream of walking again and living a normal life.

Discovery Health is currently in 55 million homes.
