Discovery International Takes Chance Communicating With Patterson

Discovery Communications has hired Chance Patterson to head internal communications for its international division..

As vice president of international of communications for Discovery Networks International, Patterson is responsible for the development and implementation of all communications strategies for 19 brands that reach 926 million cumulative subscribers in more than 170 countries worldwide. He will provide communications counsel to the international leadership team, including Discovery Networks International president and CEO Greg Ricca and Discovery Networks International COO Sahar Elhabashi.

Patterson, who joins Discovery from Sirius XM Radio where he served as vice president of corporate communications and public affairs, will also oversee internal and external communications across the division, coordinating closely with the company's regional operations in the UK, EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa), Latin America and Asia-Pacific.

Prior to joining Sirius, Patterson served as director of government relations and strategic relocation for KPMG LLP. Before that, he held various legal positions with Tucker Flyer & Lewis and Calfee, Halter & Griswold.
