Discovery Names Rehrig GM of Eurosport Digital

Discovery Inc., said it has named Paul Rehrig general manager, Eurosport Digital, the direct-to-consumer business of the European sports network. He will report to Discovery Global Direct-to-Consumer CEO Peter Faricy and will be based in London.

Rehrig spent the past eight years as EVP of digital and business development at AMC Networks. At Eurosport, he will oversee the development and growth of Eurosport’s digital direct-to-consumer products, including the Eurosport App, live sports streaming service Eurosport Player and Eurosport.com, which Discovery said engages more than 30 million unique users per month.

As we look to the exciting opportunities ahead, Paul will ensure Eurosport delivers the immersive multi-screen products and experiences that are essential for powering people’s passions and engaging targeted global communities around sport.”

While at AMC, Rehrig was responsible for building its direct-to-consumer team from the outset and launching and running two subscription-video-on-demand businesses: Sundance Now and Shudder. He previously served as SVP, global digital strategy and business development, at Warner Music Group.
