Discovery Promotes Ad Sales Execs

Discovery Communication has promoted Ben Price to Executive Vice President, National Ad Sales and Simon Robinson to Chief Operating Officer, National Ad Sales, in an announcement made today by President of Ad Sales, Joe Abruzzese and Chief Financial Officer, Andy Warren.

“As one of the most respected and admired sales executives in the industry, Ben brings his outstanding management and client service experience to this new role, while continuing to drive results for our partners and Discovery alike,” said Abruzzese.

Price started at Discovery in 1989 as an account executive, then made his way to Director, Ad Sales to Vice President. Joining the team of Scott Felenstein and Sharon O’Sullivan, Price will aide in national ad sales under Abruzzese, between New York and Los Angeles.

Robinson will be responsible for supervising the national ad sales teams, taking on a both his existing role as Chief Financial Officer and his new role.

“In his newly expanded leadership position, Simon will play a critical role in helping to drive long-term growth across the company’s portfolio along with enhancing the synergies between Discovery’s U.S. networks and ad sales team,” said Warren.

After joining Discovery in 2006, Robinson took on the role of Vice President of Finance for Discovery’s Europe, Middle East and Africa regions. He was then promoted to Senior Vice President in 2008 and his current position of Chief Financial Officer in 2012.
