Discovery Communications promoted Jennifer Dangar to senior vice president of domestic distribution.
Consolidating all distribution and customer touch points under one group, Dangar oversees Discovery’s national accounts and field sales, with responsibilities for managing all aspects of the programmer’s relationship with the country’s largest network distributors.
In her new role, she also manages all activities related to the domestic distribution field team, including sales and account management, overseeing teams in the Silver Spring, Md., headquarters location, as well as regional offices in Los Angeles, Atlanta and Charlotte, N.C.
After a five-year hiatus from Discovery, when she worked as VP of national accounts and strategic marketing at Turner Broadcasting System, Dangar rejoined the domestic distribution team in 2004 as VP of new-media distribution for the company.
Throughout her first Discovery tenure, Dangar held several management roles with the company’s affiliate-sales and marketing division.
“Jennifer has played a tremendous role in helping our largest distribution partners to fully leverage the strength and quality of Discovery’s brands,” said Bill Goodwyn, president of domestic distribution and enterprises, to whom she reports, in a prepared statement.
“With her rich experience, she is a natural fit to oversee our vital distribution relationships and sales efforts nationwide and unlock unique opportunities across Discovery’s linear, digital and HD services to help our distributors across the country drive their businesses forward,” he added.
