Discovery Rolls the Marketing Dice

Discovery Networks U.S. has tapped a Sony Electronics Corp. veteran as its executive vice president of marketing, officials said Tuesday.

Ken Dice will assume responsibility for brand-strategy development, media planning and strategy, as well as advertising and promotional campaigns for Discovery’s 14 networks.

A 17-year veteran of Sony and Leo Burnett Worldwide, Dice will report to Discovery Networks president Billy Campbell.

Dice, who joins Discovery Dec. 1, most recently served as senior VP of consumer marketing for Sony in Park Ridge, N.J. In that slot, he oversaw all of Sony’s U.S. consumer-marketing efforts. Dice also created and executed, for the first time, national retail partnerships to build integrated programs and further ad extensions.
