Discovery Communications Inc. announced Monday that it has acquired AIMS Multimedia.
AIMS produces, publishes and distributes educational programs including the “DigitalCurriculum” video-on-demand service.
DCI said the acquisition should bolster its newly formed Discovery Education business unit.
“The acquisition of AIMS Multimedia solidifies Discovery’s position as a leader and innovator in the world of digital video-based learning,” DCI CEO Judith A. McHale said in a prepared statement.
“Discovery Education will continue to lead the industry with the very best educational video content and online services that engage and excite students and improve their academic performance,” she added.
