Dish Adds Dominican Net

EchoStar Communications Corp.’s Dish Network has added Television Dominicana to all three of its Latino packages, officials said Tuesday.

This marks the first time that the 24-hour Dominican network is available nationwide. The network will offer the 1.5 million Dominicans in the United States a wide scope of programming, such as news, talk shows, sitcoms, and variety and lifestyle shows.

“This is the first time such a high-quality selection of Dominican programming has been put together for the Dominican community in the U.S., offering the most celebrated talents in the country,” Roger Huguet, president of the network’s owner, Media World, said in a prepared statement. “The channel programming grid is the result of extensive focus-group research in New York, Boston and Florida.”

Television Dominicana is available on Dish Latino, Dish Latino Dos and Dish Latino Max.
