Dish Cuts PVR Price

EchoStar Communications Corp. said Friday that it has dropped the suggested
price of its integrated direct-broadcast satellite receiver/personal video
recorder model 'DishPVR501' by $50, to $349.

The company also announced a software upgrade for the DishPVR501, which will
add new features including caller ID and access to a seven-day programming-guide
search.

EchoStar is also testing a new dual-tuner PVR, the model 'DishPVR 721,' which
is expected to retail in the $549-to-$599 range.

EchoStar said it has shipped more than 500,000 PVRs.

The company marketed an earlier-generation model called the
'DISHPlayer.'
