Dish Dives Into Fantasy Sports

EchoStar Communications Corp.’s Dish Network has entered the fantasy-sports

The direct-broadcast satellite provider has teamed up with STATS Inc. to
launch Dish Network’s Fantasy Sports Channel.

The new network hosts the nation's first interactive, networked TV
fantasy-sports games: "Fantasy Sports College" and "Fantasy Sports Pro"

Players who earn the highest number of points at the end of their seasons in
the national competitions will each win the grand prize of an HDTV
satellite-television system. Weekly points winners for both games will receive
the 2004 "NBA League Pass," the National Basketball Association’s out-of-market

In order to join the action, Dish subscribers must have OpenTV Corp.-enabled
set-top models "3900," "4900" or "301."
