Dish Gets on Its Horse

Post time for HorseRacing TV on EchoStar Communications Corp.’s Dish Network is Thursday.

Magna Entertainment Corp. said Tuesday that Dish will add HRTV to its “America’s Top 60” and above programming packages, as well as “Dish Latino Dos” and “Dish Latino Max,” at no extra charge.

The addition of Dish’s 10 million subscribers throughout the country will put HRTV in more than 11 million cable and satellite homes.

HRTV features television coverage of 13 racetracks that are owned, operated or managed by Magna, as well as live coverage from more than 60 other tracks in North America.

Where legal, wagering is conducted via the phone or the Internet through XpressBet (, Magna's national account-wagering system.

“We look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship with Dish Network that builds national brand recognition for HRTV and the racing industry while providing Dish Network and its subscribers with valuable daily, live sports programming from many of America’s premier racetracks,” HRTV president Bill Bridgen said in a prepared statement.
