Dish Network Launches ‘Eurochannel’

Dish Network has launched Eurochannel, which offers movies, TV series and original productions from all over Europe, officials said Wednesday.

All of Eurochannel’s programs are broadcast in their original audio, with English subtitles.

The network will be available at no additional cost in Dish Network’s French Bouquet programming package, which is $19.99 a month. And the satellite provider’s customers can also add Eurochannel to any existing foreign-language TV package for an extra $9.99 a month.

“We are delighted to partner with Dish Network in order to introduce the quality European programming of the Eurochannel to U.S. viewers,” Eurochannel president and CEO Gustavo Vainstein said in a prepared statement. “From now on, Dish Network customers will be able to enjoy the best of European movies, television shows and documentaries all available on Eurochannel.”

Dish Network currently offers more than 140 international channels in more than 25 different languages.

Eurochannel counts more than 7 million subscribers in Latin America, Canada, the Caribbean, Africa and Portugal. The network is exclusively dedicated to airing European programs 24 hours a day in subtitled original version. Cinema plays the most important part in its programming, complemented by documentaries, series and musical shows.
