Dish To Offer Interactive Wimbledon Coverage

Dish Network is offering multiple channels of ESPN’s Wimbledon coverage on its DishHOME Interactive TV channel, Ch. 100, officials said Monday.

Through this Friday, the satellite provider’s multi-screen platform will allow viewers to customize their viewing experience by choosing from six available channels, which include the live ESPN2 coverage; a "Wimbledon Extra" channel that features look-ins on key matches, highlights and interviews; and action on four other courts, all of which can be expanded to full screen at the touch of the remote button. Viewers can also choose to watch all six channels at once.

“Together with ESPN, our DishHOME application will enable our customers to keep tabs on all the action, or instantaneously select a match to watch in full-screen,” Michael Kelly, Dish Network executive vice president of Commercial & Business Services, said in a prepared statement. “Even fans attending the championships don’t have that kind of control and convenience.”

More than 13 million Dish Network subscribers have Interactive TV-enabled receivers. To access DishHOME, customers can tune to Ch. 100, press the iTV button on their remote control or launch iTV from their electronic programming guide.
