EchoStar Communications Corp.’s Dish Network will offer picture-in-picture interactivity of the Summer Olympic Games after signing a deal with NBC Interactive TV.
The program runs Aug. 11-29, and it will be available to all 9 million Dish subscribers.
Those subscribers will be able to monitor five NBC networks carrying the games on a single screen, and then select what channels they want to watch by using their remote controls.
The MSNBC, CNBC, USA Network, Bravo and Telemundo windows will air the real-time coverage as it is broadcast. A sixth window will be available and will show NBC network daily Olympic highlights.
The showcase can be access through Dish channel 100. OpenTV Corp. built the showcase-channel application.
