Dish Offers 3-Months of Free Blockbuster By Mail

About a month after winning a sometimes heated auction for Blockbuster, Dish Network said it will offer new TV customers three free months of the video rental giant's mail order DVD service.
Dish will offer new satellite TV customers three months of Blockbuster By Mail, giving them unlimited access to more than 100,000 movies, TV shows and games through the mail, new titles 28 days before Netflix or Redbox, Blu-ray movies, and the added benefit of instant exchanges at participating neighborhood Blockbuster stores.
"We are pleased to introduce a Dish Network promotion with Blockbuster," said Dish chief marketing officer Ira Bahr said in a statement. "Dish Network now offers more than twice as many movie choices as any other TV provider. If you love movies, you're going to love Dish Network."
Dish outbid activist investor Carl Icahn and a group of bondholders led by hedge fund Monarch Alternative Capital for Blockbuster in April. Earlier this month, Dish named long time executive Michael Kelly as president of its new Blockbuster subsidiary.
