EchoStar Communications Corp’s Dish Network direct-broadcast satellite service has passed the 11 million-customer milestone, the company said Monday.
Dish said it moved past Time Warner Cable to become the No. 3 pay TV provider in the United States.
The DBS provider topped the 10 million mark last June.
“We are pleased that one out of every 10 U.S. households now subscribes to Dish Network -- an achievement that took just over eight years," chairman and CEO Charles Ergen said in a prepared statement.
